Here we are, thinking about Thanksgiving already! In exactly 4 weeks, our heads will be bowed in prayer at a Thanksgiving meal, and joined with our closest friends and family and neighbors, we will be thanking God for our many blessings over this past year, including thanks for Hurricane Matthew's last-minute move to the east, sparing us from much suffering. We pray all came through the hurricane without too much woe.
The Sunday after Thanksgiving, Advent starts (November 27)! Please take a few moments to read the newsletter/calendar your child brings home. Every month, every child takes home a copy of "The Gathering," which contains very important information and dates/activities. Here, some of them are summarized: Days this month there will be no classes: *Tuesday, November 1 - Holy Day of Obligation: All Saints Day. Please come to Mass with your family in lieu of coming to class; Masses are celebrated at 8AM, 10AM, and 7PM today. *Tues-Wed-Thurs, November 22-24: Thanksgiving Grades 1-6 students will attend evening 5:30 Mass once a month, every month, during class time: *November 8, 9, 10: Please feel free to come to Mass also! Children will sit with their Catechist and classmates, so you will have some quiet time, uninterrupted, to pray and praise! Grades 3-9 students will go to Confession during class time: *November 15, 16, 17: Please support your Catechist by reviewing how to make a good confession with your children. Required meetings this month: *Saturday, November 19: Confirmation Retreat, Parish Hall, 9AM-5PM, breakfast and lunch included; students will attend 4PM Mass; confirmation fee must be paid in full
