Holy Family Catholic Church works with other organizations when possible and when we feel it is beneficial to our registered families. One organization we work with is Hispanics in Action, which organizes classes to help immigrant families learn English. Most classes are for adults, and all classes are open to immigrants from all countries. All volunteers and programming are associated with Hispanics in Action, not with Holy Family. English as a Second Language classes are given in Holy Family's classrooms after all children have exited the building. Currently, Beginner and Low Intermediate classes are offered at 7PM on Mondays beginning September 10 and continuing through at least May 2019. Classes in other languages are offered, too. Are you a native English speaker? Do you want to teach English to foreigners through Hispanics in Action? Or maybe you have family members who speak French, Italian, Spanish, or some other language and you want to learn their language. Maybe you will be traveling overseas soon, or maybe you regret that you let the language skills you once had deteriorate. Do you want to learn another language without the pressure of tests, grades, deadlines, and massive amounts of homework? Hispanics in Action offers Beginning level classes in Spanish at Holy Family on Mondays at 7PM in the Parish Hall. Other languages are taught at other locations throughout Martin and St. Lucie counties. Hispanics in Action even offers classes in other content areas such as computing and art. All questions regarding available languages, registration, locations, times, textbooks and other materials, teachers, volunteering opportunities, and so on should be directed to Mr. Nelson Merchan-Cely.
