Prayer to Our Lady of Good Counsel
God of heavenly Wisdom, You have given us Mary, Mother of Jesus, to be our Guide and Counselor. Grant that we may always seek her motherly help in this life and so enjoy Her Blessed Presence in the life to come. O Mother of Good Counsel, Patroness of The Council of Catholic Women, intercede for us, that we may be wise, courageous and loving leaders of the Church. Help us, dear Mother, that we may know the mind of Jesus your son. May the Holy Spirit fill us with reverence for God's Creation and compassion for all God's children. May our labors of love on earth enhance the Reign of God. May God's gifts of Faith and Living Hope prepare us for the fullness of the World to Come. Amen. |
WITHIN OUR PARISH COMMUNITY
Our Counsel was founded in 1987 to unite Holy Family parishioners, especially our women, in prayer, works, and projects, thereby developing mutual respect, understanding, and love for the Lord, our parish, and each other.
The CCW is often a catalyst identifying and responding to parish needs until specific ministries emerge. Together we work toward fulfillment of NCCW mission statement: "the support, education, and empowerment of Catholic women in leadership, spirituality, and service." All CCW activities point toward Christ and His Church. In that, we find our success. Our newsletter, below, highlights some of our current activities and members.
SPIRITUALITY
Promotes programs to create a "Community of God's People" that is educated and dynamic in their faith.
LEADERSHIP
Gives support to the Membership through public relations, training, organization, and personal development for women.
SERVICE
Involves Members in answer the needs of their own communities and beyond in programs that affect their lives and well-being of all.
LEGISLATION
Provides information about legislative issues and encourages involvement and social responsibility.
Holy Family CCW meets in the Parish Hall on the first Wednesday of each month except June, July and August. We alternate daytime and evening meetings beginning with a daytime meeting in September. Daytime meetings begin at 10:00 am with the option of praying the Rosary at 9:30. Evening meetings begin at 7:00 pm with the Rosary at 6:30 pm.
All women of the parish are invited to join us. Simply show up at one of our meetings, or contact one of our Board Members.

Dear Parents:
Every year Holy Family Council of Catholic Women offers a scholarship to Catholic School Elementary students. It’s called the Muriel Schreiber Scholarship. Muriel Schreiber was a long-time member of Holy Family CCW and a past president. She dedicated herself to education as a classroom teacher and principal.
Applications for the scholarship are usually available in March. A notice will be in the bulletin when applications are being accepted. The award is for $1,000. This amount is sent directly to the school and the amount is credited to the student’s tuition. Depending on the number of qualified applicants, more than one student may be awarded $1,000.
Our CCW members are very aware of the sacrifices you make to give your child a Catholic school education. We will pray for your family asking God’s abundant blessings and guidance for you as you guide your child with the love God gives to each of us.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Patricia Carol, President, Council of Catholic Woman
