LITURGICAL MINISTRIES
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
This ministry welcomes parishioners who are registered, baptized, and confirmed, and who demonstrate sufficient spiritual maturity to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ.
Belief in and deep commitment to the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist is essential for service.

Do you know anyone who is presently in a health care facility, nursing home, assisted living facility, rehab and/or local hospital who is "homesick" for the Sacrament?
Perhaps you are aware of a fellow parishioner or friend who is homebound due to a recent hospitalization or an illness, whether acute or terminal, or who is frail and unable to attend Mass. When requested by the patient, a Eucharistic Minister can bring the Eucharist. Don't hesitate! Have them call the parish office. |
MASS, HOMEBOUND, PATIENTSExtraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist Priests and Deacons by serving at all Eucharistic celebrations and/or visiting the homebound as well as patients in nursing homes and hospitals.
At Holy Family, Eucharistic Ministers distribute the Most Holy Eucharist during our Sunday Masses. The Eucharist is always offered in the form of the Host and in the form of the Chalice of His Most Precious Blood. Some Eucharistic Ministers bring the Eucharist and companionship to parishioners who are homebound or to Catholics who are in nursing homes or hospitals. All Eucharistic Ministers are required to complete Protecting God's Children training. Other periodic and refresher training sessions are provided for those participating in this ministry. A Commissioning Rite is also mandatory. For more information, or to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, call the Parish Office (335-2385) or talk to any Eucharistic Minister after any Mass. |
