SERVICE

This year, you are expected to begin your life-long service to the Church by volunteering regularly at Mass and for a parish-community ministry.
SERVING & ASSISTING AT MASS

1. ASSISTING AT MASS: "Assisting at Mass" simply means going to Mass and participating by praying and singing out loud. Go to a weekend Mass every week, documented from June 2022 through May 2024 by going into the Ministry Room and signing in.
  • If you go to another church, bring in a bulletin (write your full name on it).
  • Services at non-Catholic churches don't count.
2. SERVING AT MASS: "Serving at Mass" means that you work during a Mass in a liturgical ministry. You need to do this at least once a month. Choose one of these ministries:
  • Altar Server
  • Lector
  • Music
  • Usher
SERVING THE PARISH COMMUNITY

1. HELP PEOPLE PRAY. Everyone is required to participate in one of these presentations:
  • (Advent)
  • Christmas Pageant
  • Living Stations of the Cross (Good Friday)
Rehearsal schedules and roles are available on the first day of class so you can commit.
2. LEARN HUMILITY & DO THE DIRTY WORK. Everyone is required to help our older parishioners in established parish ministries by doing the dirty work and heavy lifting during at least one event:
  • Religious Articles Store
  • Garden Ministry
  • Men's Club Breakfasts and Dinners
  • St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry
  • Repect Life Marches & Prayer Commitments
  • CCW Holiday Fair
  • Religious Education Advent Retreat
  • Basic Angels Holiday Sneaker Project
  • Knights of Columbus Fish Fry
  • Religious Education Easter Retreat
  • Holy Family Annual Golf Tournament
  • Holy Family Annual Parish Picnic
Details will be given on the first day of class.

Think "dressing up" for church means being uncomfortable and old-fashioned? Nope. Follow our Pinterest page for inspiration, or just watch the video below.

SAINT

During the Rite of Confirmation at your Confirmation Mass next year, our Bishop will call you and the other Confirmandis (candidates) by a “Confirmation name.” Many Confirmandis choose a new name; others continue to use their baptismal names. Download the file and begin your decision making.

you are also choosing a human being here on Earth
  • to pray for you,
  • to exemplify holy reactions in difficult circumstances,
  • and to show you what it means to be a "practicing" Catholic.

Who should my sponsor be?
