Every November, Holy Family's Council of Catholic Women invites parishioners to join us in the Holiday Sneaker Project giving program. Many organizations provide toys for children in need; the Holiday Sneaker Project supplies children with the basics. Participants receive the name of a child and the information needed to purchase for him or her a week's worth of socks and underwear as well as a new pair of sneakers. In 2017, parishioners gave out an incredible 167 gift bags full of these necessities to children in need from our parish and in our community through the local elementary school and St. Vincent de Paul. CCW members brought their gift bags to our annual Christmas party. The Holiday Sneaker Project ministry head storied the gift bags at her home while other parishioners who are not CCW members brought their bags in throughout the month. Finally, all 167 bags were loaded up -- multiple times! -- into Santa's sleigh to be delivered to the schools. Thank you to all who participated! What a blessing!
