40 DAYS FOR LIFE CHURCH CHALLENGE

9/21/2020

1 Comment

This year, Respect Life Ministries on the Treasure Coast are hosting a CHURCH CHALLENGE to see which church gets the most participants to pray at Planned Parenthood.
We have many  Churches in the Treasure Coast, so we should be able to cover prayer and witnessing  at the Planned Parenthood during their regular business hours, which are 9-5 Monday and Tuesday and Thursdays from 11-6.
And all you need is 4 people from your church!!!
 Here is how the Church Challenge works:
*Each church needs a captain (but it doesn't have to be Respect Life Ministry Head).
*Each church will choose a time slot of only 4 hours; available slots are:
----->Monday or Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
----->Monday or Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
----->Thursday from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
----->Thursday from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

*A 4-hour time slot can be broken down into two 2-hour shifts (for example, 9:00-11:00 is one shift and 11:00-1:00 is another shift, and two people work each of the 2-hour shifts).
*The Church Captain will coordinate with participants and with the 40 Days Scheduler Jim Thoma.

LET'S SEE WHICH CHURCH GETS THE MOST PARTICIPANTS!!!

PLEASE RESPOND ASAP TO JIM 772-335-2385 WITH YOUR SIGN-UP OR IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION.

                                 Moms and Babies are counting on you.

God Bless from your 40 Days Team,
Lisa Addeo: 40 Days Port St. Lucie Coordinator
Debra Magrann: 40 Days Port St. Lucie Site Coordinator
Jim Thoma: 40 Days Port St. Lucie  Scheduler

P.S. Don't forget about the teens. Any youth/teen group that is interested in getting involved, have them contact us.

Results of my 6/4/19 meeting with the Superintendent of SLC Schools

6/7/2019

0 Comments

On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, I met with Superintendent Wayne Gent regarding our concerns about CAST opening classrooms directly across the street from A Woman's World Abortion Clinic. (Click the link to read up on that if you missed the original post.) Here are the bullet points on the meeting:

*Mr. Gent treated myself and Pastor Longworth with respect and professionalism, much different than the former superintendent and board members Hilson and Hensley who have responded to some of us with nasty emails, claiming we were threatening them. (If you receive a response like that, please forward it to me.)

*Mr. Gent said they will continue with the expansion but he is considering the following safety precautions:
1) To build a security fence with a mesh around the building that would provide security and limit the view of the clinic.
2) To landscape in front of the school building in a way that would limit visibility of the clinic.
3) To establish procedures in the school that would train teachers to close the blinds during certain times so the children would not be witnessing emergency vehicles, protests, etc.

He has not given a date or assurance that these things will in fact happen, just the fact that he is looking into doing these things. And of course fences and hedges can't protect a child's emotional well-being or the fact that the school is normalizing abortion to the children by not being concerned that the clinic is there.

So what next:

*After speaking with some people and praying about it, going to the school board meeting on June 11th would probably not accomplish much. Since school is over, this particular meeting is not well attended, so we'd only be speaking to the same people we have been emailing. Plus, we would need a big crowd to make any impact and only 15 people indicated to me that they emailed the superintendent and board. Also, it takes more time to attend this meeting, so I doubt we would have enough people to make an impact.

*If you haven't yet, email the superintendent and board (information and example letter below). It only takes a few minutes and it makes an impact. We know because we have received responses, and the Superintendent ignored me until he received these emails.

*Write a letter to the editor of a local newspaper. The letters to the editor section is the most read part of the newspaper. People don't know what's going on, and we have to get the word out. For your convenience, I've listed area papers with contact information below.

*Forward this post on Facebook, some other social media platform, or in your email to get more people involved.

*Contact me with any ideas.

We may not get them to stop this expansion, but we can bring light to this travesty and let the public know what these board members stand for.

Thanks and keep me posted on anything you do.
God Bless,
Jim

Dear Superintendent Gent and St. Lucie County School Board Members,

I think expanding the school
"Creative Arts Academy of St. Lucie," or CAST, to include using a building directly across the street from "A Woman's World Medical Center" (an active surgical abortion clinic with a lot of police activity and criminal owners) is dangerous and detrimental to the very young children who attend CAST. Please do not do this.

I also know School Board Members Kathryn Hensley and Carol Hilson are up for re-election and will
vote accordingly.

Sincerely,

St. Lucie County Schools is considering opening a vacant building for classes-- and it happens to be directly across the street from an abortion clinic

5/31/2019

2 Comments

Within the past week, I found out that St. Lucie County School Board is thinking about opening a vacant building on South 12th Street in Fort Pierce. The District has owned this building for many years; most recently it was part of a school called "Fort Pierce Magnet School of the Arts," but previous to that it was part of the District's Administrative Offices. For the most part during those decades, the District has chosen to keep that particular building vacant.

Now, however, the District plans to re-open the renovated building and use it for its classrooms in the newly-named "Creative Arts Academy of St. Lucie," or CAST. Children in grades kindergarten through 8 will be housed in classrooms that overlook the only abortion clinic in the four-county area, A Woman's World Medical Center, whose property is only 23 yards from the property of CAST.

In mid-May, I composed a letter that I will present to the Superintendent of Schools on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Pastors of four of our of our local Catholic parishes have signed this letter alongside my name, and several other priests, deacons, ministers, and directors of pro-life and religious ministries as well as several precinct captains and Republican political leaders from St. Lucie County have shown their support by signing it, too.

Picture
If you would like to add your name to speak out against this plan, please send an email to school district personnel. For your convenience, I have composed an email and listed addresses for you to copy and paste into your email provider.
Finally, I invite all of you to attend the last School Board meeting of the school year on Tuesday, June 11, to show our opposition and hold the Superintendent and Board Members accountable. More details about the School Board Meeting will follow. If you would like to have your name included on the Respect Life email list, contact me in the comments below.

Thank you once again for getting involved and for advancing a pro-life culture!

~~~Jim
Please send email ASAP! My meeting is Tuesday, June 4.
If you would like to learn how to minister at the abortuaries, please join Respect Life at its upcoming Sidewalk Counseling Training Seminar:
6:30-8:30 PM on Friday, June 15, 2018: Classroom work at Oasis Assembly of God, 1210 Hartman Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34947
AND
Saturday,  June 16, 2018: Hands On Training (time and location to be announced)
Please RSVP by calling: 407-230-2557
Pro-Life Action Ministries Central Florida
             Speaking up for those who have no voice!
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS TRAINING
DOES NOT TAKE PLACE AT HOLY FAMILY.
Sidewalk counseling is exactly what it sounds like: standing on the sidewalk outside of an abortion center counseling women and anyone that might accompany them inside the abortuary.
This is the last chance effort to offer real help to the woman, and the very last chance to cry out for the little child in the womb who is being drawn to the slaughter.
Picture
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,
for the rights of all who are destitute."
~~Proverbs 31:8~~
Join us and learn how you can rescue those being led away to the slaughter and speak to the abortion bound woman with sometimes seconds to spare. You can be a true lifesaver to the child! Whether you are new, or a seasoned counselor, come and learn how to minister in front of the abortion mills and be refreshed!
"If you falter in a time of trouble; how small is your strength! Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?"
~~Proverbs 24:11-12~~
Great Things are Happening!: 40 Days
2/22/2018
1 Comment
Dear 40 Days For Life participants,
Great news!
*The San Damiano Men's Group from St. Lucie Catholic Church who have 19 participants coming out on Fridays to cover the business hours that the clinic is open.
*Congrats also to Holy Family Catholic Church who had 145 people who signed up to pray and fast at home.
More great news! Since all of you and others around the world committed more time of prayer and fasting to end abortion, great things have been happening at our vigil site, A Woman's World Medical Center (abortion clinic).
*Saturday, February 17, 2 women changed their minds and decided not to have abortions.
*Monday, February 19, one woman changed her mind.
That's 3 babies and moms spared in the first week of 40 Days.
*ALSO: I've heard that 4 babies and moms were saved in West Palm Beach since 40 Days began! That is unusual, more than usual. So if anyone ever tells you God doesn't honor. prayer and fasting, let them know about 40 Days.
God Bless and keep up the great job!!!
Take a Stand for LifeFrom February 14 to March 25, our community will take part in 40 Days for Life … a groundbreaking, coordinated international  mobilization. We pray that, with God’s help, this will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city — and beyond.
The prayer/counseling location is the public sidewalks outside of A Woman's World Medical Center. The address is 503 12th Street Fort Pierce, Florida. Please park on the street on Delaware Ave. Do not park in the lot of Pregnancy Care Center, which is directly east, across 12th street from the abortion clinic. Also, since we want to respect the privacy of the clients going to Pregnancy Care Center, please do not speak to any woman entering Pregnancy Care Center. Also, please do not enter Pregnancy Care Center to ask to use the restrooms, say hello, etc. They are very busy and we have to respect the confidentiality of their clients. Thank you.
Some words of caution:
The sidewalk in front of an abortion clinic can become an emotional place, so in order to keep a peaceful, lawful and safe environment, please read, sign, and abide by the 40 Days for Life Statement of Peace. If you are going to the clinic, please print it out, sign it, and give it to your Site Captain.
It's recommended not to go alone. It is also recommended that you have a video camera with you (could be your phone) while you are at the clinic.
 SCHEDULE FOR WITNESS/PRAYER AT ABORTION CLINIC
* St. Anastasia: Mondays: 12:00-4:00
* Regular sidewalk counselors: Mondays: 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
* St. Damiano's Disciples of Men: Fridays: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
** St. Marks/St. Anastasia: 5:00 p.m. Fridays (Rosary)
* Regular sidewalk counselors:  Saturdays: 5:00 - 10:00 a.m.
*******There are still plenty of times open. Please reply if you have a group or are an individual who would like to pray/witness at the Abortion Clinic.
* Lisa Addeo of St. Martin De Porres is running 40 Days at the Planned Parenthood in Stuart at 1322 NW Federal HWY 1 (Emerald Plaza). Participants in this vigil include people from St. Martin DePorres, St. Andrews, Holy Family and other Treasure Coast Churches. To participate or for more information, contact Lisa at addeolisa@yahoo.com.
***Please let us know how your sign ups went and how many people are participating.
***Don't just count people who are coming to clinic. Count participants who are fasting or praying also.
Remember, you can still sign up people even after it starts. Sometimes people become interested once Lent has begun. What better way to prepare for Easter than praying or fasting for the end of abortion.
